Symposium on Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in Kyiv

The director of the Expio center, Vladyslav Matrenytsky, delivered a report “Integrative Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy: Six Years of Experience in Ukraine” at the first Symposium on Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
The event was organized on 22.09.24 by the Ukrainian Association for Psychedelic Research (UAPR), the Heal Ukraine Trauma Foundation (HUT) and the State Educational Service "Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans "Lisova Polyana" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" and was intended to serve as a platform for discussing projects on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) that are planned or already being implemented in Ukraine, and to promote the establishment of connections between key stakeholders.
Objectives of the event:
• Raise awareness about ketamine and its use in mental health care
• Inform specialists about current Ukrainian projects in the field of CAP
• Inform professionals about training opportunities
• Networking, communication and establishing cooperation between specialists.

The symposium was also attended by:

• Dr. David Nutt (on record) is Professor of Psychopharmacology at Imperial College London;
• Dr. Zach Skiles — HUT psychologist, expert in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy;
• Neeka Levy — HUT nurse, specialist in risk, benefit and harm reduction assessment of ketamine use;
• Ksenia Voznitsyna — Director of the Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans “Lisova Polyana” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
• Vyacheslav Zaika — psychiatrist, narcologist, addiction specialist, psychiatrist of the Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans “Lisova Polyana” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
• Participants in the HUT – KAP Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy training program.
