Symposium on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in Kyiv

Vladyslav Matrenytskyi, Director of the Expio Center, made a presentation on "Integrative Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy: Six Years of Experience in Ukraine" at the first Symposium on Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
The event was organized on 22.09.24 by the Ukrainian Association of Psychedelic Research (UAPR), Heal Ukraine Trauma (HUT) Foundation and the State Institution "Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans "Lisova Polyana" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" and was intended to serve as a platform for discussing ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) projects that are planned or already being implemented in Ukraine and to facilitate networking among key stakeholders.
Objectives of the event:
- Raise awareness of ketamine and its use in mental health care
- To inform specialists about current Ukrainian projects in the field of CAP
- Inform professionals about training opportunities
- Networking, communication, and establishing cooperation between specialists.

The symposium was also attended by the participants:

- Dr. David Nutt (on the record) is a professor of psychopharmacology at Imperial College London;
- Dr. Zach Skiles is a psychologist at HUT, an expert in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy;
- Neeka Levy is a nurse at HUT, a specialist in assessing the risks, benefits and harm reduction methods of ketamine use;
- Ksenia Voznitsyna is the director of the State Institution "Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans "Lisova Polyana" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine";
- Vyacheslav Zaika - psychiatrist, narcologist, addiction specialist, psychiatrist, State Institution "Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans "Lisova Polyana" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine";
- Participants of the HUT Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) training program.
