What is an anxiety disorder?

An anxiety disorder is a violation of mental harmony that, unlike ordinary short-term anxiety, lasts at least 6 months and fills a person's life with fear, uncertainty, and internal tension.

Over time, anxiety becomes fixed and turns into a personality trait - anxiety, which is a key factor in chronic distress and indicates the depletion of a person's adaptive reserves.

Consequences of increased anxiety

  • Intrapersonal conflicts

  • Neurotization

  • Development of depression

  • Psychosomatic diseases

  • Depletion of the nervous system

Karen Horney: "Excessive anxiety is a basic feeling that underlies all neuroses"

Irwin Yalom: "Fear and anxiety, as constant companions of psychological trauma, have a devastating effect on the psyche"
