Mesodiencephalic modulation (MDM) is a modern modification of transcranial therapy that selectively normalizes the work of neuroendocrine centers of the brain and, thus, the state of the neuroendocrine-immune complex. Based on many years of clinical use, it has been established that MDM therapy has an anti-stress effect in all types of urgent and chronic pathologies, stimulates reparative processes by 1.5-2 times, has an analgesic effect, provides prevention of complications, potentiates the action of most known pharmacological drugs, reducing them. consumption.
MDM is an effective non-drug method for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases, often exceeding the effectiveness of the standard complex of drug therapy, actually improving the course of not only acute, but also long-term periods in urgent pathology, reducing the frequency and severity of exacerbations in chronic diseases. MDM uses electrical signals with programmed variable characteristics that normalize the work of the neuroendocrine control centers of the body's adaptive system in the mesodiencephalic region of the brain. At the same time, analgesic and sedative effects are only an integral part of the multifaceted action of MDM.
The development of MDM began in the mid-80s at the Emergency Therapy Clinic of the Research Institute for Emergency Medicine. N.V. Sklifosovsky under the guidance of Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Professor A.P. Golikov in patients with acute transmural myocardial infarction (AMI). A number of research medical institutions have taken part in more than 15 years of research in this area. As a result, it was found that MDM, by normalizing the functioning of the opioid and hypothalamic-pituitary systems of the brain, can actually improve the formation of urgent and long-term adaptation in patients.
The main effects of MDM in pathology:
- A powerful anti-stress effect in all types of urgent pathology (especially in extreme situations, during disasters), preparation for surgery and in the postoperative period, as well as exacerbations of chronic processes. In addition, the damaging effect of chronic stress decreases (for example, in patients with severe, long-term chronic diseases accompanied by asthenic and depressive conditions, as well as with various types of neuroses).
- Stimulation of reparative processes by 1.5-2 times (accelerated formation of a post-infarction scar and compensatory hypertrophy of intact myocardium in patients with acute myocardial infarction, intensification of callus formation and prevention of the formation of false joints in patients with trauma, activation of epithelization and improvement of survival of skin grafts in patients with extensive burns, scarring of stomach ulcers and 12 duodenal ulcers during exacerbation in an average of 7-9 days only against the background of diet, acceleration of healing and restoration of the function of operated organs, etc.).
- Significant analgesic effect (reducing the consumption of analgesics by 40-60% or their complete abolition in cases where their use is necessary).
- Prevention of complications (decrease in their number and severity by an average of 30-90% depending on the type) in the acute and subacute periods with injuries, burns, myocardial infarction, pneumonia, poisoning, acute renal and hepatic failure, etc.
- Improving the “quality of life” after severe acute diseases (reducing the incidence of disability by 20-50%, long-term complications by 20-70% for various types of pathology) and chronic pathology, especially in severe cases, in the presence of several concomitant diseases.
- Prevention of exacerbations in chronic diseases (hypertension, bronchial asthma, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, diabetes mellitus, arthritis of various origins, etc.).
- Potentiation of the effect of most known pharmacological drugs (for example, 2-3 times when using painkillers, antihypertensives, anti-inflammatory and other drugs), a significant reduction in side effects and allergic complications when using them (for example, 10 times when treated with antihypertensive drugs).
- Reducing the consumption of drugs against the background of MDM by an average of 30-50%, and in some diseases their complete cancellation (for example, gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer, sciatica and osteochondrosis, neurodermatitis, etc.).
- A pronounced clinical effect in elderly patients with a "bouquet" of chronic diseases and intolerance to pharmacological drugs.
