Women's health and women's healthcare concept with uterus

Gynecological diseases

Gynecological diseases in general can be divided into three large groups:
- Inflammatory, including viral and venereal diseases,
- Caused by hormonal imbalance (infertilitymenopause, menstrual irregularities, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, ovarian dysfunction, ovulation, puberty pathology, etc.),
- changes in dystrophic and hyperplastic tissues, including neoplasms (ovarian cyst, uterine fibroids, cervical erosion, endometrial hyperplasia, malignant neoplasms).

Despite the diversity of women's diseases, almost all of them are based on chronic stress, and specific personal qualities as a predisposition to overreact to stress. The main components among them are anxiety, hypothymia (persistent mood decline - the first signs of depression), passivity and self-doubt, low self-esteem, dependence on a husband or parents, suppression of emotions and poor awareness of them.

Studies show that more than 90% of patients with chronic gynecological diseases complain about marital, child-parent and other interpersonal problems, including loneliness. About half of the patients suffer from mental disorders and have lower quality of life indicators, mainly in the area of social functioning.

Against this background, powerful psycho-traumatic situations that occur later in life act as factors of disease provocation. They are usually associated with experiences of loss (of a loved one, relationships, status, financial situation, etc.). It can also be inter- and intrapersonal conflicts that are not resolved for a long time due to the inability to meet the needs that are important to a woman, which are manifested in "stagnant", suppressed or displaced negative emotions - anger, fear, guilt, resentment, dissatisfaction with life.

In both cases, chronic psychophysiological stress gradually develops, weakening the body's defenses, forming a metabolic syndrome, suppressing immunity and increasing the body's sensitivity to harmful environmental agents (including bacteria, viruses and carcinogens). For example, it has been found that women with high levels of daily stress have a reduced immune response to the HPV16 papillomavirus, which makes them more vulnerable to cervical cancer.

If conflicts are not resolved, trauma(s) healed, and/or significant needs met for a long time, women begin to develop a state of helplessness and hopelessness, leading to depression - Mostly unconscious, sometimes clinical depression. This, in turn, contributes to various pathological bodily conditions, especially in the reproductive system, which can therefore be classified as psychosomatic.

Today, a number of scientists consider the complexity and significance of psychosomatic connections in medicine, and accordingly, all psychosomatic complaints (or at least most of them) as a manifestation of latent depression. The well-known Spanish psychiatrist Lopez Ibor Sr. was firmly convinced that psychosomatic disorders in many cases are depressive equivalents. According to V. Reef, depression, anxiety, and somatic disorders are so closely related to each other that they can be classified as a single disorder.

In particular, unconscious depression is often the basis of premenstrual tension syndrome (PMS). Medical studies have also shown that PMS is often more severe in neurotic women, especially those involved in the struggle for existence and desperate attempts to "stay afloat." Hidden depression also plays a significant role in the origin of of chronic pelvic pain..

That is why in case of gynecological diseases, it is necessary to undergo a psychological examination and psychotherapy to eliminate these sources of stress (psycho-trauma and conflicts) that negatively affect the reproductive system.

A good additional non-drug treatment is transcranial electrical brain stimulation (TES). It is widely used to treat diseases of various origins due to its analgesic effect, has a positive effect on the processes of repair and improvement of the psychophysiological status of a person, and reduces anxiety and depression.

A promising method of rapid treatment of psychoemotional imbalance caused by chronic stress is infusion treatment with ketamine.

Guided by the principles of integrative, holistic medicine, combining psychotherapy with ketamine infusions, transcranial electrical stimulation, Neurohelp brain rehabilitation, body-oriented therapy, and art therapy, we can achieve significant improvements in patients' health.
